A naturally earthy, creamy, rich black lentil dish called Urad. It is cooked long and slow with spices, ginger and garlic and tomatoes. Cooked with the dahl spices from The Spice Yard to a mild strength. Whilst our version contains cream, it can easily be made without it and hence is healthier and suitable for vegans. Just specify “vegan” when placing an order.

Portion size is equivalent to one main or two sides, perfect with rice.

Vegetarian, with no added gluten and can be made vegan (without cream)

Takeaway will be delivered chilled, ready for you to heat when required or freeze for a later date.

Order by Thursday 12 noon for LOCAL delivery Friday (1 pm onwards) or Saturday (before 1 pm), add your preferred delivery day in the notes at checkout.

A naturally creamy rich black lentil dish called urad/urid is cooked long and slow with spices, ginger and garlic and tomatoes. Cooked with the dahl spices from The Spice Yard to a mild strength. This lentil has a black skin covering creamy white interiors.

Portion size is equivalent to one main or two sides, perfect when scooped up with a chapatti (Indian unleavened bread) and some rice.

Urad dahl is full of protein, high in fibre and high in magnesium and potassium

Vegetarian, with no added gluten and can be made Vegan (without cream)

Ingredients:
Urad dahl, cream, hing, coriander, cumin, ginger, garlic, chilli, tomatoes, water, salt, lemon juice, dahl spice blend, (see blend for ingredients list) and fresh coriander.
